Giving Back: How IRS Demo Provides Nonprofits with Free Furniture and Fixtures

Carlos Herrera 04.01.20

Part of our mission at IRS Demo is to do the right thing. That’s why we give back to the community by providing nonprofits with free furniture and fixtures. No matter what the nonprofit is, we provide them with everything we have available to give back.

IRS Demo has worked with hundreds of local and international charities that include:

  • Schools
  • Churches
  • Animal Shelters
  • Fire Agencies
  • And more

The sheer amount of reusable items that are salvaged from job sites is staggering; so much so that we’ve allocated 100,000 square feet of warehouse space for housing reclaimed items for donation. The furniture and fixtures we have available include:

  • Desks
  • Chairs
  • Tables
  • Carpet Tiles
  • Light Fixtures
  • Commercial Kitchen Equipment
  • Doors
  • Locksets
  • And more

We give away around 60 tons or so a month of fixtures and furniture to charities, and we’ve given away more than 15,000 tons of total material so far. We do this for one simple reason—we know it’s the right thing to do.

Giving back is huge for our company, and we find it extremely rewarding.

We are also dedicated to protecting the environment, which is why recycling is paramount to any project we
complete. We go well beyond meeting the minimum government standards not because it’s cheaper, but because
it’s important for us to make the world a better place any way we can.

If you are a nonprofit and you are in need of carpet tiles, chairs, desks or anything else, send us a message.

Below you can read a kind letter we recently received from the Executive Director of a domestic violence shelter we had the honor to help through the years:

An incredible Business Model created by an Incredible Friend

While I was serving as Executive Director for 20 years at Good Shepherd Shelter, we directed most of our funding toward critical and comprehensive services to the brave mothers and children who come to us after being severely harmed from domestic violence, including being subjected to treatment that was aimed at destroying their self-esteem, self-confidence and dreams. Our program is the only transitional domestic violence shelter that is education and therapy focused and, with the help of IRS Demo, we have been able to create a peaceful, nurturing, beautiful and well-maintained environment that speaks to the families of their dignity and great value and is conducive to healing and re-discovering their potential.

Thanks to Carlos and his incredible team—who are always so responsive to our calls for assistance—we have been able to furnish our counseling rooms, offices, classrooms for both children and moms, and each family’s apartment.  Every time we go to IRS Demo, we find not only what we need but often find things that we didn’t know we needed—but which became incredibly useful!

They have supplied us with everything from room dividers, desks, chairs, bulletin boards, pictures for walls, tables of all sizes, book shelves and file cabinets to even state-of-the-art trash receptacles for our playground!

Carlos himself, after coming from a challenging childhood, has used that experience to help others who are less fortunate by creating a unique business model that is a win-win-win-win—for businesses, non-profits, those in need and the environment.

It is always a highlight to visit Carlos and his welcoming and wonderful team members—in which one of them commented to me that they “have at least as much joy in making the stuff available as you guys get when you pick it out….it is a perfect partnership”.   We are so very grateful for this partnership and ask God’s blessing on Carlos and everyone at IRS Demo each day as we enjoy all the tangible manifestations of their commitment to making our world a much better place.

      Thank you!
